The two story, red brick house at 14 West Gore Street, Stratford was built in 1912 for Rebecca Lupton. Rebecca lived there with her older sister Jane.

On February 5, 1843 Rebecca was born to father Edward Wilson and mother Ann (Ellis). Edward (1808) and Ann (1811) both born in County Wexford, Ireland and immigrated to Canada around 1832 with their daughter Jane (1830).  In the 1851 Census her family was living in Township of Dummat + Burleigh, Peterborough County, Canada West. They had increased their family by adding daughters Elizabeth, Anne, Mary, Rebecca, Maria, Jemmimah, Jennet, son John and Celestia.  By 1861, they are listed as living in a one story log house in North Easthope Township.  Edward died on June 2, 1884 and Ann on February 24, 1891 and are buried in Avondale Cemetery with daughters Jane 1830-1915, and Celestia (1851-1884).

Rebecca married George Wilson on March 1, 1860.  George was born in Yorkshire, England on June 8, 1838 to father Charles and mother Elizabeth Brown, both born in 1791 in England. They immigrated in 1848 with their children Thomas (1826), John (1828), Charles (1830), William (1834), George, Eliza (1841).  In the 1851 Census, they are listed as farming in Downie Township (near Harmony) and living in a loghouse.  By 1876, George and Rebecca are living in Stratford on South Street, between Front & Nile street.  In 1891, George is listed as a produce dealer and Rebecca a housewife. Her sister Jane is listed as a domestic living with them.  George died on August 18, 1905. Rebecca and Jane moved to 54 Gore Street East and lived there until 1912 when they moved to 14 Gore Street West.   Rebecca died on October 27, 1918 from heart disease.  Both George and Rebecca are buried in Avondale Cemetery.
