I/we acknowledge that volunteer members of ACO Stratford-Perth County will research the history of my/our property through the Stratford-Perth County Archives, city assessments, directories, cemetery records and other sources to determine the date of construction and the name, occupation and short biography of the first resident. Turn around time from the receipt of the application is usually 6-8 weeks. Some plaque research can take upwards of 50 hours. I/we acknowledge that the plaque (dimensions: 20 inches wide by 14 inches high) shall record the date of construction, the name and the occupation of the first resident and the name of the ACO Stratford-Perth County in keeping with all other Program practices/plaques.

I/we agree to install the plaque in an appropriate and clearly visible location on the façade of my/our building; and that the maintenance of the plaque shall be my/our responsibility. I/we also agree that information on the property, including the results of our research, wording of the plaque, and exterior photographs, may be used by ACO Stratford-Perth County on our website and for other public promotions including on social media. Such information will not include the names and contact information of applicants or current residents or owners. Participation in the Historical Plaque Program does not involve property heritage designation by the City of Stratford, or any other municipality in Perth County under the Ontario Heritage Act.
